Taking care of each other has never been more crucial as local and global health and social catastrophes abound. Building houses, builds weakened economies.
We encourage building Mini House Communities that can bring about lasting change in our communities supporting Veterans lives. Our plan is to teach a new normal for humanity by supporting one another, strengthening our communities, strengthening our Veterans and providing HOPE in helping permanent housing be attained.
How to Help?
We are so grateful for a community that continues to work together to protect and serve those who served us.
Give
As the unemployment rate continues to rise, so do our requests for emergency assistance. The COVID Veterans Response Program for Stabilization (CORPS) is dedicated to assisting Veterans in the Atlanta metro area who have been negatively impacted by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our primary goal is to assist veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homelessness through a combination of financial assistance and HVC's proven case management program. Every gift helps provide resources that will stabilize a Veteran and ensure a positive upward trajectory during this critical time.
Volunteer
HVC is committed to transporting approximately 700 meals each day to Hope Christian Outreach, VA, CCM, Start, City Of Hope, and other agencies providing relief. We are in need of volunteers with a pick-up truck and a COVID-friendly buddy who can together lift approximately 75-100 pounds boxes of food. This is a great volunteer opportunity for parents with teenagers at home!
July 20th, two pick-up teams will meet at HVC HQ (3423 Piedmont Rd NE, Atlanta, Ga 30305) at 9:30 am for a quick mission brief before caravanning to Lilburn to pick up food. Each team will make their assigned drop(s) and return the empty food boxes to Lilburn. The total trip is expected to take approximately 2.5 hours.
